awesomeness

so everyone knows about my screwy eye, right? the fact that i can't really see anything with it? well, it's been twitching for the past week or so, so i finally decided to go get my eyes checked for the first time in years. did some funky test like the glaucoma one where they shot air into my eyes and had my retina photographed. it looked cool, all green and stuff. and guess what? i don't need glasses! how awesome is that? the optomitrist told me i have monovision: i use my left eye to see close things, and my right eye to see faraway stuff. and when we're all in our 40s and 50s and you suckers need bifocals or reading glasses, i won't need them. hahaha! complete awesomeness. he told me people have surgery to get monovision when they get older, but i have it naturally. apparently that's really rare, especially for the distances my eyes are set for, which is ideal. haha, and for the past couple days i've been resigned to getting glasses. was totally expecting to get them. what a relief.

got my first phone call from industry this week, and i'll be classifying their device for them. awesome. it sounds fun, and definitely a break from the boring stuff i've been doing so far. oh ya, my building got flooded last week, so didn't have to work one day. got sent home early, which was nice, but it would've been even nicer if i didn't have to get out of bed that day.

saw pirates 3 last night. ok movie, but not that great. had some cheesy scenes, and it was a bit long, but meh. it's kinda hard for me to believe that pirates is from disney.

yay for freebies. i got expired toothpaste and a defective calculator-ruler from the health canada student orientation yesterday. nice.
