one week

week one over. work is ok; everyone's really nice to me, and i can't even remember everyone's name still. so many people, and i don't even see them everyday. the first couple days were pretty boring. actually, until yesterday, it was pretty boring. i was just reading regulations and guidance documents. boring boring stuff. now i've started on my projects, which are updating a database and creating a guidance document. great. it's better than reading, but i'm starting to realize it's just glorified filing. whatever.

the city's actually kinda nice. a pretty little town. definitely different from t.o. with all its skyscrapers and squished buildings. lotsa open spaces here. but the us embassy is a monstrosity. friggin block of concrete defacing the skyline with its crazy paranoid security. fence, ya understandable, but what the hell do you need friggin concrete barriers along the perimeter on the road for? in ottawa of all places. crazyness.

you know what's weird? i brought up some anime and stuff to watch while in ottawa, but i haven't gotten around to it, and i don't know if i even will. now that i'm here, it seems kinda a waste to spend a night just watching something. it's strange, but i'd rather be with people, which is weird considering i generally don't like people. haha.

let's see, what else....walked around a lot, met with laura, saw the crazy cat colony behind parliament hill, walked aroud the market place, which is kinda small, and...other stuff i can't remember. oh ya, got a wristband for bluesfest.

oh ya, something else. groceries are friggin expensive here compared to home. it's crazy. it's gouging cause almost everyone's a freaking bureacrat. or a student who can only shop there.
